Woman Bench

Those benches are for the Maroon women and are also known as love benches.  They usually are presents to girlfriends or wives.  A man will show his love to his wife or future wife by carving her a woman’s bench.  They are usually always decorated with love and fertility based motifs.

Throughout the development and change in life, family, and the everlasting ties of the relationship it is the woman’s devotion and responsibility to raising children and working to support the family.  Intermingled in this motif are the signs of the ties of fertility love, and devotion to family.  For instance, the sides of this bench are laced with the Dorotite pattern, which stands for everlasting ties, as everything is tied together.
